Tel Aviv will withhold Palestinian tax funds following the recognition of Palestine as a non-member observer state at the United Nations General Assembly, Israeli media say.

Citing Israeli Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz, the media reported on Sunday that the regime would not transfer the tax payments collected on behalf of the Palestinian Authority this month.

On November 29, the 193-member General Assembly voted 138-9 with 41 abstentions at the UN headquarters in New York to upgrade Palestine’s status to non-member observer state.
